No one in the university鈥檚 130-year history represents courage and sacrifice quite like the late Professor of Philosophy John Rosentrater. The late Professor of History David Mickey (鈥�39) called him 鈥渙ne of those giants who, from time to time, walks upon the earth.鈥�

Each year at homecoming, we recognize outstanding alumni in six categories: Medal of Honor/Distinguished Alumnus Award, Alumni Loyalty Award, Alumni Achievement Award, Young Alumni Loyalty Award, Young Alumni Achievement Award and the Humanitarian Award.

Former students of LaVerne Rudell surprised their beloved professor with an endowed fund in her name during Nebraska Wesleyan University鈥檚 sixth annual Business Summit, held March 7.

Rudell, professor emerita of business administration, taught at Nebraska Wesleyan for 30 years from 1966 to 1996.

Eight months. That鈥檚 all it took for Nebraska Wesleyan students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the university to give 12,500 hours of service to communities across the world.

10,087: That鈥檚 how many hours Nebraska Wesleyan University students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends have collectively given in community service since August.

The goal 鈥� in honor of the university鈥檚 125th anniversary 鈥� is 12,500 hours by next fall.

A Nebraska Wesleyan University graduate and his foundation have been honored with the White Award for Internationalization.

Harry ('59) and Reba Huge were honored Friday, November 4 with the award, which recognizes those who have furthered the internationalization of the campus, curriculum, students and faculty.
